From API threads to custom modified threads, PRIME Downhole is your complete supplier for all your threading needs. Our threads are all API 7-1 certified. We can cold roll internal and external threads, and specialize in quick turnaround threading of rotors and stators as well as completing cut back connections.
Using state-of-the-art 4-Axis CNC plunge EDM with interchangeable tooling, PRIME Downhole’s skilled EDM specialists are able to produce delicate parts with very close tolerances and complex shapes in difficult-to-machine materials that would be tough to achieve using traditional machining methods. Holes, tapered holes, keyways, slots, splines, complex cavities and shapes are just a few applications for EDM.
Along with all our other drilling services, PRIME Downhole offers specialty drilling services such as deep hole drilling, also known as Gun Drilling. First used in gun barrels manufacturing over a hundred years ago, Gun Drilling found its way into many other industries.
Our precision Gun Drilling expertise and technology, allows us to drill holes up to 400 times their diameter. This knee-type CNC gun drill has a 40” x 64” two-axis table with a drill stroke of approximately 55″ depending on the number of whip guides in use. It has a drill size range of up to 1” diameter and down to .156” depending on depth requirements and part configuration.
Drill drift tolerance in standard production is .001”/per inch, and .0005” tolerance is achievable depending on drill size and part configuration.
PRIME Downhole uses several different Savage straightening press models to accommodate a wide range of work pieces. Savage has led the industry by pioneering a highly accurate stroke controller (RPC) for fast, accurate, repeatable straightening to ± .001-inch accuracy.
Savage’s narrow width bed TFS straightening press is the perfect solution for straightening heavy shafts, tubes and bars. The workpiece is loaded onto pressing anvils. The gantry is then traversed over the shaft.
Straightening accessories include: Power workpiece rotation, power lift, power anvil positioning and power rotation stand positioning along the bed.
